Empties Please – ink & toner cartridge recycling

We have come across a great new and easy way to raise funds for our school through recycling used ink cartridges.

We are working with a company called ‘Empties Please’. They collect and recycle used ink and toner cartridges the environmentally friendly way and will donate the money raised back to us!

How does it work?

It’s very simple. All you have to do is:

1) Collect and save your used ink and toner cartridges.

2) Check that they can be recycled:
If your cartridges are not on the list PLEASE DO NOT PUT THEM INTO THE BAGS.

3) Put them into your green bags. Please don’t put them into the post they must come back to the recycle bin at school.

If you need more bags call 0844 879 7179 or email info@emptiesplease.com and quote ‘SCHOOLS’.

4) Put the green bags into our brown and white recycle bins located in the School Office Reception area.

5) Empties Please will collect the bin when it’s full.

6) Empties Please then donate money raised straight back to our school along with a certificate to display in our school reception area.

You can collect ink cartridges from absolutely anywhere; school, work, home, clubs, friends and family.

The benefits to our school are fantastic. We are being “Green” by recycling the cartridges, raising much needed funds for our school and gaining our “Green Rewards” so we can do our bit for the local environment too!

Recycle at work

Don’t forget you can also request a bin for your workplace on behalf of the school. If you are interested please contact Empties Please directly on 0844 879 7179 and they will gladly send you one to display. Please quote Leonard Stanley School.

‘Green Rewards’

Empties Please are a recycling company who are keen to promote ‘Green Awareness’. They offer schools a Green Points Reward’ system, for every ‘£1’ you raise they’ll give the school ‘1 Green Point’.

School’s ‘Green Points’ can be saved up and redeemed for gifts from their ‘Green Rewards’ list here. Some of the lovely items school can choose from are, seed packets, bird feeders, bug houses, gardening equipment, outdoor games, bat boxes, owl roosts, hedgehog houses and so much more!

Their ‘Green Rewards’ scheme is an ‘Eco Project’ designed to help get our pupils outdoors and learning about their surrounding environment and wildlife.

Did you know?

Cartridges thrown away take 1000 years to decompose. More than 40 million cartridges are dumped each year in the UK.
