We are delighted to inform you that from the week beginning the 8th June until 21st July, the children (weather permitting) will be returning to swimming lessons and using the school pool 3-4 times per week (during school summer term – school opening hours only) subject to satisfactory water tests.
The cost for each child to use the pool for swimming lessons for 6 weeks is only £12. This money is essential for us, in partnership with School to provide swimming as part of the National Curriculum. The pool is not financed by the Local Authority and is solely reliant on parent/carer contributions. It is a real and rare asset for the school but without fees and memberships, the pool would need to close. This fee goes towards providing lessons (where the children gain confidence in a not very deep pool and have lots of fun at the same time) and the annual running and maintenance costs of the pool.
The payment of the school swimming lesson fees is mandatory and needs to be paid by Monday 14th June 2020. The paperwork for paying your fees will be coming home in book bags very soon or alternatively you will be able to download when available. All monies are to be placed in a sealed named envelope marked ‘Swimming Lessons’ and returned in your child’s book bags or put in the FOLSS postbox.
If you do not pay your fees by the 8th June a reminder letter from the school office will be sent home.
Volunteer helpers needed
We will need a parent helper at each lesson so that the children can be safely supervised in the water. If you are able to give us a set time each week when you can help (a morning or an afternoon), then please contact school reception. Please note that you will not necessarily be supporting your child’s class. Thank you for your support.
